The Timberland Apartment Building
This handsome apartment building has 26 rental dwelling units, nestled in a natural landscape of trees and founded on a Canadian Shield stone batholith. Just a short walk downhill to Huntsville’s downtown and tasting the true Muskoka life: sitting on a patio dock along the Muskoka River.
The Art of Better Buildings:
A Pre-construction Guidance Book
Strategies towards Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification
Incorporating thoughtful accessibility considerations early in the design process adds minimal cost – yet many projects still treat accessibility as an afterthought, aiming only to meet minimum code requirements. Discover how to integrate meaningful access in new construction projects from the outset to create inclusive spaces, and explore practical strategies for aligning involved parties, navigating legislative requirements, and addressing site constraints and budget pressures without compromising inclusion.
This free publication covers risk and change management as well as common false equivalencies to help avoid the typical Tower of Babel frictions that result in change orders, budget overages, and delays in schedules. Building designs are decision trees: all subsequent decisions are built on the previous ones.
The Net Zero Graphs above however show it simply: critical design objectives introduced late will result in projects off-course. Stop doing that, eh?
